We have leaf insects, which keep laying so many eggs, and I would not like to incubate all of them at the same time. Is it possible to store them by simply leaving them to dry and reactivate them by keeping them moist once we want to start the process all over again? Or to remain viable, would they have to always have to remain moist?

Hi Heather – While I haven’t tested keeping leaf insect eggs “dry” I suspect they would likely perish. I’d be surprised if they can be “reactivated” at a later date. I think it would just be a case of incubating the ones you’d like to hatch, but accepting that the others may perish.
